A friendly, FA-Chartered club for young footballers
Houghton Rangers Juniors is a friendly, FA-Chartered club in east Leicestershire for young footballers aged 5 to 18.
Our aim is to work with parents and players to create safe, healthy, positive environments in which our footballers can feel confident to learn all aspects of the game, from technical and physical to social and psychological.
Football is a great platform to learn a range of skills, including teamwork and leadership, and we're proud that our club gives young people in our community the opportunity to play team football in organised leagues, cup competitions and tournaments.
Most of our teams train on Saturday mornings at our Weir Lane ground or on all-weather pitches during the winter months, and our matches are played on Sundays during term time, from September to May.
We're also really proud to have a thriving Wildcats Programme, aimed at introducing girls to the game in a fun and relaxed environment, as well as being able to offer team football to girls aged 5 to 11.
Aside from playing football, we organise social events and are participants in Leicester City's grassroots programme, which has given our footballers the chance to be flag-bearers at the King Power Stadium for both the Leicester City men's and women's teams.
New players are always welcome, so if your child wants to give it a try, or if you're 16-18 and looking for a new team, please get in touch.
